South Carolina Space Grant Consortium

The South Carolina Space Grant Consortium (SCSGC) was founded to improve the state’s aerospace research and education. With 15 member institutions, including colleges and universities in South Carolina and the Virgin Islands, the SCSGC promotes diversity and works to address the science education pipeline problem. As a NASA contact, the SCSGC serves as a hub for aerospace research and education in the region.

The main goal of NASA EPSCoR is to provide funding for jurisdictions to create long-term, self-sustaining research capabilities in aerospace and related fields. The program aims to promote and develop research infrastructure, improve the ability of jurisdictions to get funding from external sources, establish partnerships between NASA, academia, and industry, and improve research infrastructure, science and technology capabilities, education, and economic development. Additionally, NASA EPSCoR works closely with the Space Grant program to improve STEM education in participating jurisdictions.
